Detrich, Dental Hygienist
My name is Leigh Detrich Harris. I am known by my middle name pronounced "d-trick". I have practiced Dental Hygiene for 21 years. I received my Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1996 from Indiana University School of Dentistry. I later obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Dental Hygiene in 2013.
Early on in my career I worked part time for a Periodontist, Pedodontist, and General Cosmetic Dental office. Dr. Princell and I met in June of 2000 when I joined his practice. This was the beginning of a life-long mentorship that I have carried on throughout my career. My experiences under his leadership from 1998-2022 has enabled me to become a confident and succesful leader in my field.
I moved away from Indiana for several years, living in the "Low Country" of South Carolina where I was very fortunate to meet a young dentist to lead and carry on the values I obtained from working with Dr. Princell. I truly hated to leave South Carolina but as I grew and became a mother I moved back to the Midwest to my hometown of Carlisle, IN. I now have a 10 year old son who has been very fortunate to grow up near our family farm and immediate family.
For the past 9 and a half years I have worked with an organization that serves the underserved population of children and adults. I feel very fortunate in my career to have experienced serving such diverse populations in the field of dentistry
As a returning Hygienist, 15 years later in Dr. Princell's practice, it has been such a pleasure to re-connect with the same patients I once knew. The dedication, trust, and continuous quality care that he provides to every patient in his practice is just as consistent as the day I left in 2002. The trust and value I see from our existing patients and new patients is priceless! I look forward to seeing each and every once of you as an existing or new patient. Our ultimate goal is maintaining your overall health, dental healthy and quality of life!

Karissa, Dental Assistant
I have been a Dental Assistant since 2016. I went to school at Ivy Tech Dental Assisting program as a CDA and EFDA. I really enjoy seeing the patients smile and the confidence they have once they walk out of our office after treatment. Connecting with the patients and helping them overcome their fears is a rewarding part of my job as a Dental Assistant.
In my free time outside of work I enjoy spending time with my Husband, son and rest of my family. My passion outside of the office is Baseball, I have coached my son’s baseball team for the past few years, I am a board member on the league and will help any of the kids in the league, no matter the age, with Softball/Baseball. When I’m not on the field, I enjoy concerts with friends and going on vacation. I’m looking forward too many more years with the practice and expanding my knowledge in the Dental field.
